This in-person workshop will give prospective users the opportunity to learn about the experimental and user support resources provided by the University of Florida (UF) NHERI Experimental Facility (EF). The workshop will present research opportunities that are enabled by the unique simulation and measurement capabilities of the Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel at UF. The focus will be on harnessing Machine Learning (ML) as a tool to optimally exploit this highly automated experimental environment and extend the boundaries of wind tunnel research.
Participants will hear from guest speaker leaders in the use of ML for wind hazard research and engage in proposal development activities. The workshop will take place on September 23rd. The workshop is preceded by a working dinner on September 22nd with participation encouraged.
