NHERI Researchers featured in PBS Home Diagnosis TV Show

Natural hazards engineers offer expertise for Home Diagnosis season 3

Published on February 13, 2024

The online television series Home Diagnosis is all about the science behind home performance. The 30-minute episodes deliver in-depth analysis of home damage, repair, protection, and resilience. Grace and Corbett Lunsford, home performance experts based in Atlanta, Georgia, create, produce, and host the show. In each episode, the Lunsfords seek out subject matter experts to provide authoritative, science-based information.

Themed “Accidents Happen,” Home Diagnosis season 3 examines natural hazards such as earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires and landslides. Experts explain these hazards — and ways people can protect against the damage they cause.

The episodes this season feature eleven NHERI researchers. The film crew also visited four NHERI facilities, where they captured exciting footage of the FIU Wall of Wind, the UC San Diego LHPOST6 shake table, the Oregon State University wave lab, and the UC Davis Center for Geotechnical Modeling.

Home Diagnosis season three is now available online, on the website and on YouTube. Be sure to look at the episodes featuring NHERI researchers, below, and share with friends and colleagues.
