Description:

An investigation of the influence of soil gradation (particle size distribution) on the tip resistance profiles of cone penetration test used to characterize in situ soils. Centrifuge modeling was necessary to simulate high stresses found deep in the earth. Accomplishments addressed in this paper have an emphasis on the preparation and execution of centrifuge model construction.
