Description:

This project uses Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) to address the need for multi-hazards resilient buildings. The research conducted was to correlate observed physical damage from video with key analog measurements at different performance levels. In addition, a 3D AutoCAD model complete with architecturally finishes of 10-story CFS test buildings was created. The work presented in this project will help in the understanding of the structural behavior of CFS in-line wall using recorded videos with analog sensor data in a composed video. The 3D geometrical model will be used to construct the 10-story test building in UCSD. Going forward, this project will benefit the structural engineering community in the understanding of CFS wall-line behavior.
