DesignSafe Enhancements & New Features

The DesignSafe team is pleased to announce the following enhancements to facilitate your research using the Data Depot and Workspace.
- Amends and Revisions to Datasets: You can now revise or amend published datasets in the Data Depot. Revisions include changing data files within a dataset, while Amends represents changing metadata such as related works. Both old and new versions of a dataset remain available, and the DOI remains the same. Amends and revisions are available for project types "Other" and "Experimental" and will be available for other project types soon. More information can be found here.
- Bulk Download: You can now select multiple files and folders from the Data Depot for download as a single zip file. Downloads of this type are limited to a total of 2 GB. Larger downloads can be accommodated with other Data Transfer Methods.
- DesignSafe Use Cases: To help users fully embrace DesignSafe functionalities, we have developed a suite of Use Cases that demonstrate how DesignSafe is being used to advance natural hazards research. These Use Cases span different natural hazards, tools, applications, and technical domains. Practical products, examples, and Jupyter scripts associated with these Use Cases are available online here.
