New Travel Award Opportunity: Early Career Local Participation Awards

Limited funds are available to defray the travel costs of early career participants from the Washington, DC metro and surrounding areas. These Local Participation Awards are open to early-career faculty, graduate students, and post-doctoral professionals seeking involvement in the natural hazards engineering research community. The NSF Local Participation award will reimburse selected awardees for travel costs up to $300. Participants who reside in the DC metro and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.

If you have already applied for the NSF Travel Award, you will automatically be considered for the Local Participation Award; an additional application is not required.

The deadline to apply for the Local Participation Award was March 29, 2024

 


Primary Travel Award (Applications Closed)

Applications for the primary travel award have closed and applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of March.

Early-career faculty, graduate students, and post-doctoral professionals seeking involvement in the natural hazards engineering research community were invited to apply for an NSF Travel Award.  The NSF Travel Award will reimburse selected awardees for conference fees, travel, accommodations and food, up to $1300.

Travel awardees will be selected to increase interest in multi-disciplinary research and collaboration, as well as to promote participation from under-represented minorities, women, and veterans.  Applicants applying for the NSF travel awards must be citizens, permanent residents, or visa holders who attend or work at institutions in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
